Chemical Peeling

Chemical peeling is a procedure that aims to accelerate skin exfoliation by the use of chemical substances resulting in renewed, healthier looking skin and more uniform complexion.   The result of regular treatments may even skin tone, clear acne, improve the appearance of aging skin and make dull complexions glow.

During the initial consultation, your skin care professional will evaluate your skin condition and recommend the appropriate peel regimen based on your needs.

The complete treatment is expected to take 45 minutes, which includes ample time to address any questions you may have, and a discussion on your post peel care. The actual application procedure is approximately 20 minutes. Tolerance to the procedure varies from patient to patient. Tingling or burning sensations are normal and expected reactions. A handheld fan can be used during the procedure to minimize discomfort, which usually subsides in a few minutes.

Mild to moderate redness is expected after any type of chemical peel procedure. Mild to moderate skin peeling may or may not occur. Since the new skin is more susceptible to sunburn, extra precautions should be taken to limit sun exposure for at least one week after the peel. Downtime can last from 3-7 days.

PCA Peel

Chemical peeling is part of a skin management program that includes home-use products. Patients should use a daily skin care regimen recommended by a physician or skin care specialist that may see results achieved with chemical peel treatments.

Dermaplaning is appropriate for all skin types in need of mild exfoliation. This treatment reduces the dead cellular layer on the skin, through a method of controlled surgical scraping. This process creates a smoother, brighter appearance. Dermaplaning can be incorporated with a mild chemical peel for a deeper exfoliation. This treatment is comparable to micro-dermabrasion, the difference is dermaplaning does not use suction or abrasive crystals which can cause broken capillaries and uneven texture.

Skin Care Products

What is the largest organ of the body? If you answered the epidermis or skin, you are correct. Like the heart or lungs, your skin needs protection and care. Skin conserves your body’s moisture and heat, while providing you with constant information about your environment. As skin ages, the amount of collagen decreases, the fibers become less organized, and the dermis thins. Environmental elements such as sunlight, smoke, and pollution cause damaging free radicals to form on the skin. These free radicals break down collagen and elastin, causing lines and wrinkles to form. Daily exposure to sun and pollution causes clogged pores, and red and brown spots. In order to achieve corrective skin care, the product’s active ingredient needs to be potent. Therefore, after a facial rejuvenation procedure, adopting a proper skin care regimen is paramount to maintaining results.

Each skin care product the Facial Rejuvenation Centre carries offers ingredients that protect and maintain healthy, beautiful skin as well as speed the skin’s recovery following invasive and non-invasive skin rejuvenation procedures.
