WHAT ARE DERMAL FILLERS?

AM I A CANDIDATE FOR DERMAL FILLERS?

WHAT EXACTLY IS A FILLER?
Allergan fillers are injectable treatments that restore volume and fullness to the face, including the cheeks and lips. WHAT ARE THESE FILLERS MADE OF?
Allergan fillers are made of non-animal-based hyaluronic acid. Hyaluronic acid is a natural substance that already exists in the human body and is used to provide volume and fullness to the skin. The hyaluronic acid comes in a crystal-clear gel called NASHA, or Non-Animal Stabilized Hyaluronic Acid. NASHA is biodegradable and completely biocompatible with human hyaluronic acid.
HOW DOES FILLER DIFFER FROM BOTOX?
Allergan fillers are natural, cosmetic fillers that add volume to the face, whereas Botox is a drug that blocks neurotransmission and relaxes the underlying muscles so you don’t look wrinkled. Many patients have been very pleased after receiving treatment with both products.
WHAT IS JUVÉDERM?
Juvéderm is a cosmetic filler commonly used refresh one’s appearance, restore facial volume loss, provide facial contouring for improved symmetry, and plump the skin by stimulating collagen, elastin and fat production. IS DERMAL FILLER SAFE?
Yes, it has been used safely by dermatologists and plastic surgeons for decades. Because NASHA is non-animal based and fully biocompatible, allergy testing is not required. There is virtually no risk of animal-based disease transmission or allergic reaction. The most commonly reported side effects of using dermal fillers are temporary redness and swelling at the injection sites, and these effects typically resolve within 2-3 days.
WHAT WILL HAPPEN WHEN YOU GET A DERMAL FILLER?

WHEN CAN YOU EXPECT RESULTS FROM JUVÉDERM?
Expect to see immediate results that last for six months to two years, depending on product choice; however, each patient is unique, and the length of your results will depend on how quickly your body metabolizes the product. Typically, multiple fillers are required to achieve optimum results. Maintenance once a year with at least one filler will keep you looking fresh!
